Hi all! Today’s good sports news comes from the hockey world again. It is about how the Carolina Hurricanes granted the wish of one of their biggest fans.

Eight-year-old cancer patient Chase Bass suffers from a rare form of leukemia. The Make-A-Wish foundation helped make his wish come true with the Carolina Hurricanes and gave him the day of a lifetime.=

The day started with him meeting Stormy, the team’s mascot, and got a tour of the arena. He got to sit in and watch them practice from the team’s bench. He then got to meet his favorite Canes player, Jeff Skinner.

The day didn’t stop there. He then got to play some street hockey with some Hurricanes players, with some of his picks for his team being Skinner and Cam Ward as his goalie.

The team’s play by play announced even helped out by making it like a real game, even doing a post-game interview with Chase.

The day was topped off by the team’s General Manager signing Chase to a one-day contract. So, they truly made him a Cane for the day.

Here are some pictures from the day.

For a family that is going through so much, physically and mentally, a day like can really lift their spirits and give them a little extra strength to keep pushing forward. So great to see a team happily involved with something like that. And, for those wondering, this was Chase’s first choice for his wish.

That is for today’s good sports news! Thank you guys for watching!
